7:17 am
at the end of last summer, raging waters announced it wasn't renewing its lease and closing for good because of low turnout this past february, san jose mayor matt mahan said the park would reopen under new management and city leaders announced it yesterday that it will be renamed, folks, we're very, very devastated, as was i and hundreds of other people in the community because of the nostalgia and the good memories. so, with this water park coming back into fruition and an opportunity for residents to enjoy once again, the feeling is definitely excitement. the newly renamed water park will have an opening ceremony sometime after memorial day weekend. no exact date has been announced. well, you can celebrate asian american, native hawaiian and pacific islander heritage month with a polynesian party. the kumu hula association has deep roots in hayward, as many native hawaiians left the islands, making their home here back in

little, and it's still applies today. you continue to learn more outside. right now we're off to a mostly clear start. sunny already warming those temperatures up through the south bay. nearing that 60 degree mark. and we're going to keep things mostly clear for the day, not only in hayward, the south bay, but continuing with that warmth. so the time of the morning to get those walks in is definitely right. now, once we get into that 11:00 hour noon, it's going to be sizzling in some spots. we'll do 87 in morgan hill to 86 in cupertino. as we make our way into the east bay. this is where our microclimates are going to be showing just a little bit more. we're going to cool things down through oakland, almost that 80 degree mark. and as we start to go over the hills, we go to 89 in walnut creek and 91 out towards antioch. and of course, it wouldn't be a microclimate forecast without going on to the peninsula and looking from 84 in palo alto to just a little bit cooler in san mateo, at 75 to some upper 60s, along the coast. so we're dealing with that patchy fog there this morning, but it should start to clear out as we go on into about 10:00. so
7:20 am
just be careful with those visibility changes out there. we'll do 71 in downtown san francisco and up into the north bay. we go. we might want to celebrate mom out towards wine country. we'll look at the mid 80s out towards napa, 74, in mill valley for the music festival there. but you go up along 101 and you get to 92. in ukiah. and speaking about going up, we could have another shot of looking at those aurora borealis later tonight. the forecast is trending at a little bit more to the north. so yesterday i think was definitely the peak of this. don't be alarmed if things start to change with our communications, the phones, the alarm systems. that's just because the sun has so much energy. and that could be causing some issues there. as far as our mother's day plans, it's still looking gorgeous, just a touch cooler as we go on along the coastline to some upper 60s in san francisco, but some 70 bayshore and 80s to celebrate. mom in our inland valleys with maybe a nice picnic, a nice stroll that will be nice to celebrate all of our mother figures in our lives. seven day forecast for us shows us staying dry over the next
7:21 am
seven days through the city. some days will be a touch cooler than others, but so far the rain stays away and our inland valleys will watch for that patchy fog once again tomorrow morning. but 80s all week long, not a single rain icon right there for the next seven days. i think that makes a lot of moms happy, especially lieu. yeah. yes. finally, cynthia, we love it. thanks 720 right now we have much more ahead on today in the bay. coming up, a trip to an italian opera right here in the bay area. coming up, a two day run. you won't want to miss this weekend on our bob redell is waiting in the wings with a preview. it's the $100,000 lucky lotus all cash giveaway at great resort and casino. saturday, may 25th. one winner of 50,000 cash plus 100 winners of $500 guaranteed the $100,000 lucky lotus all cash giveaway. only at graton resort and casino. honey why are my shirts so wrinkled and smell like mildew? don't let
